How much does Botox cost in Taiwan?
New Dawn Health lists two botulinum toxin packages at partner clinics in Taipei. Prices are in USD and are our package prices.
| New Dawn package | Clinic | Appointment | How it is priced | Our price (USD) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Botox w/ Merrier | Merrier Clinic, Da’an District, Taipei | 1 hour | Per treatment area | $122 per area |
| Botox w/ Provenir Clinic | Provenir Clinic, Nangang District, Taipei | 30 minutes | Per appointment; product and dosing confirmed at the consultation | $350 |
- Treating one or two areas: Botox w/ Merrier is priced per area, so two areas cost two times $122.
- Want the doctor to set the plan first: Botox w/ Provenir Clinic is a single 30-minute appointment at $350. The clinic confirms the product and dose at the consultation.
Before you compare any two quotes, ask three things: which toxin brand is in the vial, how many units the plan uses, and whether the price is per area, per unit or per visit. Browse every bookable treatment on our services overview.
How does the Taiwan price compare with the US?
The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) states that the average cost of botulinum toxin injections is $435, based on its latest statistics. ASPS adds that the price depends on how much product is used, how advanced the lines are, the provider's expertise and the office location.
| Where | Price | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| United States (ASPS average) | $435 | Average cost of botulinum toxin injections |
| Merrier Clinic, Taipei (New Dawn Health) | $122 | Our price per treatment area |
| Provenir Clinic, Taipei (New Dawn Health) | $350 | Our price per 30-minute appointment |
A single Botox appointment rarely justifies a flight on its own. It fits best into a Taiwan trip you are already taking, alongside other treatments or a health screening.
How many units of Botox does each area take?
The US prescribing information for Botox Cosmetic (onabotulinumtoxinA), revised October 2024, lists these doses for its four approved cosmetic uses:
| Area (label indication) | Injection sites | Total dose |
|---|---|---|
| Glabellar lines (frown lines between the brows) | 5 sites, 4 Units each | 20 Units |
| Lateral canthal lines (crow’s feet) | 3 sites per side, 4 Units each | 24 Units |
| Forehead lines, treated together with glabellar lines | 5 forehead sites plus 5 glabellar sites, 4 Units each | 40 Units |
| Crow’s feet plus frown lines | As above | 44 Units |
| Crow’s feet, frown lines and forehead lines | As above | 64 Units |
| Platysma bands (vertical neck bands) | 18, 23 or 28 sites, depending on the number of bands | 26, 31 or 36 Units |
The label pairs forehead treatment with frown-line treatment, which is why the forehead row includes both. Your injector may adjust the plan for your muscles; the label says not to exceed the maximum recommended cumulative dose in a session.
Which botulinum toxin brands might a clinic offer?
Clinics may offer Botox (AbbVie/Allergan), Dysport (Galderma), Xeomin (Merz) or Korean-made toxins such as Innotox, Botulax, Letybo and Meditoxin. All are botulinum toxin type A, but they are not interchangeable dose for dose.
The Botox Cosmetic label states that its potency Units cannot be compared to or converted into Units of any other botulinum toxin product. A quote of "50 units" means different things for different brands. Ask which brand a quote covers, and ask to see the sealed vial before it is opened.
When will you see results, and how long do they last?
The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) says most people see results within 3 to 7 days. AAD says the improvement lasts about 3 to 4 months, and sometimes longer. Most people return to everyday activities right away.
The Botox Cosmetic label states that dosing more often than every 3 months has not been clinically evaluated. Plan repeat treatments no closer together than that.
What are the risks of Botox?
The most common adverse reactions in the label's clinical trials were:
- Frown lines: eyelid ptosis (drooping), 3%.
- Crow’s feet: eyelid edema (swelling), 1%.
- Forehead lines: headache, 9%, and brow ptosis, 2%.
The label carries a boxed warning: the effect of any botulinum toxin may spread from the injection site, hours to weeks after injection. Seek immediate medical attention if you have trouble swallowing, speaking or breathing.
The label lists two contraindications: allergy to any botulinum toxin product or its ingredients, and infection at the injection site. The medication guide says it is not known whether Botox Cosmetic can harm an unborn baby or passes into breast milk.
Who should inject, and what should you tell them?
AAD advises getting all injections from a board-certified dermatologist or a member of that doctor’s medical staff, with the dermatologist in the office and immediately available. In Taiwan, ask the clinic who will inject you and confirm the name on the physician license on display.
Do not stop aspirin, blood thinners, supplements or any other medicine because of this article. Give the injector a complete list and follow their written, individualized instructions.
- Tell the doctor about every pain reliever, blood thinner, herb, vitamin and mineral you take, including ones you stopped recently.
- Say if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding.
- Mention allergies, prior toxin or filler treatments, previous reactions, and any neuromuscular condition.
- Ask which product and lot will be used, and how complications are handled after you fly home.
How do you book Botox in Taiwan through New Dawn Health?
- Pick a package: Botox w/ Merrier at $122 per area, or Botox w/ Provenir Clinic at $350.
- Open its booking page, choose your preferred date and complete the booking.
- Your coordinator confirms the appointment time with the clinic.
- At the clinic, the doctor reviews your health history and agrees the areas, product and dose with you.
- Follow the clinic’s written aftercare, and keep its contact details for follow-up.
How should you plan Botox around a trip?
Results take 3 to 7 days to show, per AAD. Book Botox early in your trip, so you can see the result and ask about it before you fly home.
If the injection is for an event, leave time for the full effect and any touch-up. Ask the clinic for written instructions on flying, exercise, heat such as saunas or hot springs, and alcohol; these vary by clinic and product. If laser treatments are also planned, our laser-treatments traveler’s guide covers sequencing, and combining cosmetic treatments covers multi-treatment trips.
What about dermal fillers?
New Dawn Health does not currently list a dermal filler package. If a clinic offers fillers, the material matters most.
- Hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers such as Juvederm, Restylane and Belotero can be dissolved with hyaluronidase. Ask whether the clinic keeps hyaluronidase on site.
- Calcium hydroxylapatite (Radiesse), poly-L-lactic acid (Sculptra) and polycaprolactone (Ellanse) stimulate collagen and cannot be dissolved on demand.
The rare serious risk with fillers is vascular occlusion, where filler blocks a blood vessel. Choose an experienced physician injector, and use our skin-treatment consultation checklist before booking.
