HydraFacial and Facials in Taipei: What Is Included, How They Differ, and Price

A HydraFacial in Taipei costs $100 to $266 through New Dawn Health: $100 at Aimer, $135 at iHope Clinic, and $266 for iHope's Premium version with a booster serum. Spa deep-pore facials for women and men at her spa cost $66 for 50 minutes.

New Dawn Health books five facials in Taipei, from $66 to $266. Three are HydraFacial sessions at medical aesthetic clinics. Two are deep-pore facials at a spa, one for women and one for men. This guide covers what each one includes, how they differ, and what each costs.

What is included in a HydraFacial?

HydraFacial is a branded machine facial. Northwestern Medicine describes it as patented technology that cleanses, extracts and hydrates the skin. A standard session runs in three steps:

  1. Cleanse and peel: gentle exfoliation and resurfacing uncover a new layer of skin.
  2. Extract and hydrate: painless suction removes debris from pores, then moisturizers go on.
  3. Fuse and protect: antioxidants and peptides saturate the skin's surface.

Our Hydrafacial at iHope Clinic uses the HydraFacial Syndeo machine. It ends with a light moisturizer and broad-spectrum sunscreen. You can return to normal activities straight away.

iHope's aftercare advice is short. Skip active exfoliants and harsh whitening or brightening products for one week. Wear SPF 30+ daily.

What does the Premium Hydrafacial add?

The Premium Hydrafacial ($266) is the iHope HydraFacial plus the Hydrafacial x JLo Beauty booster serum. The booster contains olive leaf extract, niacinamide, a fermented adaptogen blend and a proprietary “Hydracomplex”. The maker says it is meant to tighten, brighten and hydrate the skin. Those are the brand's claims, not trial results.

If your goal is clean pores and a quick glow, the standard Hydrafacial ($135) covers that. The premium version is for people who want the booster on top.

How is a spa pore facial different from a HydraFacial?

Both clear pores, but the tools and setting differ.

The Women’s Pore Refining Facial targets blackheads, enlarged pores, rough texture and makeup that slides off oily skin. The Men’s Deep Pore Care targets an oily T-zone, nose blackheads and skin irritated by daily shaving. Neither needs a change of clothes.

Which facial should you pick?

  • Lowest price, most hands-on care: the her spa facials at $66, in women's and men's versions.
  • A HydraFacial at the lowest price: Hydrafacial Eve at Aimer, $100.
  • The Syndeo machine and a short session: iHope Hydrafacial, $135, 45 minutes.
  • The booster serum on top: iHope Premium Hydrafacial, $266.

One practical note on language. iHope says its support staff have limited English and use Google Translate to communicate.

Can a facial clear blackheads for good?

No. A facial empties clogged pores, but new ones form. The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) says blackheads form when a pore stays open and fills with debris. It notes the black dots are not dirt, so scrubbing will not fix them.

For lasting control, the AAD recommends a retinoid to unclog pores. Adapalene is sold without a prescription. The AAD says to allow six to eight weeks for treatment to work. It also warns against squeezing blemishes at home, which often makes acne worse.

Facials with professional extraction fit in between, as a periodic clean-out. Deeper concerns such as acne scars or pigmentation need other treatments. Our guides to skin rejuvenation in Taiwan and Pico Laser in Taipei cover those.
