At New Dawn Health, our mission is to make world-class health and wellness services more accessible and affordable.
I lost my mother to colon cancer when she was just 35. That loss gave me early access to preventive health screenings in the U.S., a privilege I know many Americans don’t have. The unfortunate truth is, unless you’re already showing symptoms, doctors often won’t prescribe the tests you need to get a full picture of your health. Getting a complete health check-up can take weeks or even months, with endless appointments, multiple facilities, long wait times, and frustrating insurance hurdles.
In 2018, my upper endoscopy and colonoscopy came out to be $11,000 USD. Even with my supposedly top-tier insurance from Google (my previous employer), I was still on the hook for $500. And that was just the start of a months-long dispute between the hospital, the physician group, and the insurance company over who should take my money.
We believe in democratizing access to high-quality health and wellness services, giving people control over their entire healthcare journey—whether they are seeking preventative screenings or advanced specialty care—and making the experience seamless, transparent, and even enjoyable.
Taiwan is an underrated destination for health and wellness tourism, but I can assure you that the quality of care here is world-class, the experience is exceptional, and the cost is just a fraction of what you’d pay in the U.S. Plus, you will truly enjoy the hospitality and charm of this island.
Sincerely,
Mike Kuo
