Advanced Vision & Retinal Screening

An expanded eye screening combining full vision checks, tear production testing, and high-definition 3D retina scans to protect both your vision and long-term eye health.

Who It's For

  • Complete Eye Health Evaluation: Anyone looking for an all-in-one checkup that covers vision accuracy, dry eye causes, and deep retinal health.

  • High Nearsightedness or Aging Eyes: Individuals with strong prescriptions or age-related risks who want to screen for early glaucoma, macular changes, or retinal tears.

  • Screen Workers with Eye Discomfort: Those experiencing constant screen strain alongside dry, watery, or fatigued eyes needing a deeper tear analysis.

What's Included & Why It Matters

  • Full Basic Vision Screening & Power Testing (Near & Distance)

    • Why It Matters: Measures your visual acuity at all distances, checks eye pressure, tests color vision, and maps your corneal shape.

  • Tear Function & Blinking Analysis (Schirmer's Test & Blink Rate)

    • Why It Matters: Directly measures your natural tear production volume and blinking habits to pinpoint exactly why your eyes are feeling dry or irritated.

  • Ultra-Widefield Fundus Imaging & Retina/Optic Nerve OCT Scan

    • Why It Matters: Captures ultra-wide 200° photos and 3D cross-sectional layers of your retina and optic nerve to catch hidden conditions like glaucoma, macular degeneration, or retinal thinning early.

  • Ophthalmologist Consultation & Report Explanation

    • Why It Matters: Direct in-person review with the eye specialist to walk through your high-definition scans and give you clear, actionable guidance.

How It Works

  1. Initial Coordinator Orientation: Meet your care coordinator to review your vision history, daily habits, and screening goals.

  2. Vision & Diagnostic Screenings: Complete distance/near vision tests, eye pressure checks, and gentle tear production tests.

  3. Advanced Retinal & Optic Nerve Imaging: Undergo non-contact ultra-widefield scans and 3D OCT imaging.

  4. Physician Review & Consultation: Sit down with the eye doctor for a detailed explanation of your eye health, scan results, and updated prescription.

Good to Know

  • Language & Communication: Consultations and medical explanations are conducted directly by English-fluent specialists. Support staff have limited English skills but regularly use Google Translate to ensure smooth coordination.

  • Eyeglasses & Contact Lenses: Please bring your current eyeglasses with you. If you wear contact lenses, please remove them before testing (or wear your glasses) to ensure accurate measurements and scan clearings.

  • Sensation & Comfort: Tests are painless and non-invasive; the tear secretion test involves placing a small paper strip near the lower eyelid for a few minutes, which may feel slightly ticklish.

  • Pupil Dilation Note: If pupil dilation is needed for deeper retinal imaging, your vision may be temporarily blurry and light-sensitive for 4–6 hours. Bringing sunglasses is recommended.
