Get a detailed, non-invasive 3D look inside your coronary arteries using an advanced 768-slice scanner. This comprehensive scan evaluates blood flow, detects soft and calcified plaque buildup, and assesses overall heart disease risk.
Who It's For
-
Symptom Evaluation: Individuals experiencing unexplained chest pain, shortness of breath, or discomfort linked to heart function.
-
Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) Screening: Anyone with moderate-to-high risk factors (high blood pressure, elevated cholesterol, diabetes, smoking history, or family history of heart disease).
-
Non-Invasive Vessel Inspection: Patients needing a clear alternative to traditional invasive cardiac catheterization to inspect blood vessels directly.
What's Included & Why It Matters
1. Multi-Slice Coronary CT Angiogram & Calcium Score
-
3D Arterial Imaging: Captures high-resolution cross-sectional slices and 3D reconstructions of the heart's coronary blood vessels.
-
Plaque & Blockage Analysis: Detects calcified and non-calcified plaque buildup and measures the degree of vessel narrowing.
-
Why It Matters: Provides detailed structural analysis to help prevent heart attacks and guide medical treatment before severe blockages develop.
2. English Report of Results
-
Official Clinical Findings: A detailed analytical report provided in English for your medical records.
-
Why It Matters: Offers precise cardiac findings to share with your cardiologist or primary care physician for long-term health planning.
How It Works
-
Prep & Fasting: Fast for 4 hours prior to the exam. Take regular blood pressure or heart medications with a small sip of water, but diabetic patients must skip morning insulin/hypoglycemic drugs to avoid low blood sugar.
-
Creatinine Blood Test: Expect an on-site blood drawing if you do not have recent kidney function test results (Creatinine within 3 months).
-
Scan: Lie flat on the CT table with continuous ECG monitoring and an 18-gauge IV catheter. Nitroglycerin may be administered to dilate coronary vessels. Hold your breath as non-ionic contrast dye is injected to capture rapid images.
-
Time & Duration: Scan room time is 30 minutes, with total appointment time taking 1.5 hours (90 minutes) including on-site report explanation.
Good to Know
-
Report Delivery: Your complete English report will be ready in 7–10 business days.
-
Contrast Requirements: Requires an intravenous non-ionic contrast injection. Please drink plenty of water after the scan to help your body excrete the dye.
-
Medication Notice (Metformin): Patients taking Metformin for diabetes must stop taking it 24 hours before and 24 hours after the scan.
-
Important Contraindications: This scan cannot be performed if you are pregnant, suspect pregnancy, or breastfeeding. Please inform us prior to booking if you have severe arrhythmias, kidney impairment, severe asthma (bring your rescue inhaler), a history of contrast allergies, severe hyperthyroidism, metal heart valves, or thoracic spine pins (T5–T11).
-
Note on Calcium Score: CCTA is not suitable if your coronary calcium score is already known to be > 1000.
