Who It's For
-
High-Risk Breast Cancer Screening: Women with a strong family history of breast cancer, dense breast tissue, or known genetic mutations (such as BRCA1/BRCA2).
-
Diagnostic Clarification: Anyone requiring an in-depth, secondary evaluation for inconclusive mammograms, palpable lumps, nipple discharge, or unexplained breast changes.
-
Breast Implant Evaluation: Women with breast implants needing comprehensive assessment of both tissue health and implant integrity.
What's Included & Why It Matters
1. Contrast-Enhanced Breast MRI
-
High-Sensitivity Imaging: Captures detailed 3D cross-sectional images of vascular patterns and subtle soft-tissue lesions using intravenous contrast dye.
-
Why It Matters: Serves as the most sensitive imaging tool for detecting early or hard-to-see abnormalities that standard imaging may miss.
2. Digital Mammography
-
Low-Dose X-Ray Assessment: Evaluates microcalcifications and structural tissue distortions.
-
Why It Matters: The gold standard screening tool for identifying calcifications associated with early-stage disease.
3. Targeted Breast Ultrasound
-
Real-Time Sonography: Differentiates between fluid-filled cysts and solid masses using safe sound waves.
-
Why It Matters: Complements MRI and mammography by evaluating localized structural concerns without radiation.
4. English Report of Results
-
Official Clinical Findings: A detailed analytical report provided in English for your medical records.
-
Why It Matters: Combines all three modalities into a clear diagnostic report to share directly with your physician, breast surgeon, or oncologist.
How It Works
-
Timing & Scheduling: For premenopausal women, this scan must be scheduled during days 5–15 of your menstrual cycle (counting from day 1 of your period) for optimal tissue visibility.
-
Prep & Fasting: Fast for 4 hours on the morning of your exam. Do not consume any food, water, or coffee.
-
Check-In & Blood Test: Arrive 1 hour early for on-site blood drawing ($90 fee) if you do not have recent kidney function test results (Creatinine within 3 months). If you have valid test results, check in 30 minutes early.
-
Safety & Screening: Change into a gown and remove all metal items, jewelry, dental retainers, and electronics. An IV catheter (22G) will be placed for contrast injection.
-
Scan & Examination: Complete the mammogram and ultrasound before entering the MRI suite. For the MRI, lie face-down on a specialized breast coil table. Ear protection is provided for noise.
-
Time & Duration: MRI scan room time is 40 minutes, with the total appointment time taking 1.5 hours including report consultation.
Good to Know
-
Report Delivery: Your complete English report will be ready in 7–10 business days.
-
Contrast Requirements: Requires an intravenous Gadolinium-Based Contrast Agent (GBCA). Please drink plenty of fluids after the exam to help your body excrete the dye.
-
Absolute Contraindications: Cannot be performed if you are pregnant or currently breastfeeding.
-
Scheduling Note with Liver MRI: If you are also scheduling an Abdominal/Liver MRI with liver-specific contrast, the Breast MRI must be scheduled at least one day apart.
-
Renal Safety Thresholds: Contrast injection cannot be administered if severe kidney impairment is present eGFR < 30 or Creatinine > 1.5. Patients on hemodialysis should schedule their scan prior to a dialysis session.
-
Safety & Metal Precautions: Unsuitable for individuals with non-compatible pacemakers or implanted electronic devices. Patients with surgical hemostatic clips (must wait 1 month after polyp/tissue clipping) or dental implants/braces must confirm eligibility before booking.
