Do not call unequal coverage “equivalent”
Head-to-mid-thigh, head-to-ankle, selected-organ, whole-body and single-region scans are different products. Some exclude the chest, lungs, breasts, heart, limbs, bowel or spine. The presence of AI, a 3T scanner or a radiology report does not erase these differences.
A valid comparison must match the same modality, anatomy, sequences, contrast, report, image files, clinician review and follow-up. Promotions, memberships and location-specific pricing should be separated from standard self-pay prices.
Medical evidence and limitations
ACR states that evidence is insufficient to recommend total-body MRI screening for asymptomatic people without risk factors, symptoms or family history. No commercial scan replaces established breast, cervical, colorectal, oral or eligibility-based lung cancer screening. Incidental findings can lead to additional testing, procedures, anxiety and cost.
A large blood panel is also not automatically beneficial. Each test should have a reason, and abnormal results may need confirmation. Combining a membership with imaging does not create a medically validated longevity protocol.
